What exactly is CFIN?
CFIN is a software company. It develops and licenses proprietary algorithmic trading software that runs on your MetaTrader 5 account at your broker. The disclaimer puts it plainly: what you get is "licensed algorithmic trading software — nothing more, nothing less".
CFIN does not manage money, does not hold funds, does not give advice and is not a broker. Your account is held by a third-party broker that CFIN does not own or control.

Is CFIN regulated by the FSMA or ESMA?
No. The disclaimer states that CFIN is not a regulated financial institution and is "not authorised, licensed, or supervised by the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), or any other financial regulatory body". It provides no regulated service as defined under MiFID II (Directive 2014/65/EU) and holds no discretionary mandate over your account.
Does CFIN ever hold or touch my money?
No. The disclaimer states that CFIN "does NOT handle, hold, or have access to your trading funds at any time" and "cannot withdraw, transfer, or access your funds". Your money stays in your own brokerage account throughout. The software places orders on that account; it cannot move money out of it.

Who is the company behind CFIN?
CFIN is a trading name of MODULO C, a company incorporated under the laws of Belgium, VAT BE1037081042. MODULO C is also the data controller for the personal data CFIN processes. Full registered business details are available on request from legal@cfin.be.
What does the software actually do?
It runs as an Expert Advisor — MetaTrader's own term for a program that runs inside the MT5 terminal and places trades automatically. It uses technical analysis of price patterns, volatility and market structure to identify opportunities, and sets a predefined stop-loss and take-profit on each trade across several forex pairs. The disclaimer describes the strategy as focusing "primarily on breakout patterns and momentum-based entries", and states that the software is experimental and may not perform as expected.
Do I need to install anything or run a VPS?
No. There is nothing to install, host or maintain — no VPS, no trading terminal on your own computer, no settings to keep running. The software runs on CFIN infrastructure and connects to your broker account.
