What changed
Your profile now includes a "Your data" card with a request flow for exporting your data or asking for your account data to be erased, supporting data-protection requests. Internally, we also maintain audit trails that record administrative actions taken on an account, so changes can always be traced.
Why
Being able to request your own data, or ask for it to be erased, is a basic expectation of how a modern product should treat your information. Keeping a clear internal record of administrative actions means any change to an account is always accountable and traceable, which protects you as much as it protects us.
What you need to do
Find the "Your data" card in your Profile if you'd like to request an export or an erasure of your account data; the page will show you the current status and any deadline that applies.
In detail
- The "Your data" card on your profile supports both a data export request and an account-data erasure request.
- A pending erasure request shows a visible deadline, so you always know where it stands.
- Internally, administrative actions on an account are written to an audit trail that records what changed and when.
- This pairs your own right to request or erase your data with our own accountability for anything our team changes on an account.
One more thing
Pairing your own right to request or erase your data with an internal audit trail of administrative changes reflects the same underlying idea: accountability should run in both directions, not just from you to us.
If you submit a data export or erasure request, the visible deadline on the "Your data" card is there so you're never left wondering whether the request is still being worked on.
We think being able to explain, internally, exactly what changed on an account and when is just as important a form of trust as any customer-facing feature, even though it's not something you'll often need to look at directly.
